STOP Vantage's Vague, Unjust fines, ask for warnings first!

Dear Fellow Homeowners, I've lived in this beautiful neighborhood for 9 years. I have not one time had any problems with our Homeowners association or a management company they choose to use. However, this year I have been receiving vague fine notifications in the mail stating CCR's 10.3 which only states "Maintain Landscaping" When I tried to reach Vantage through the phone number they provided and email they provided I did not get a response. I had to go through facebook Horizone Pointe page to reach a board member. I still did NOT get a return call from Vantage. I even emailed the owner to no avail. After 3 weeks I got an email from someone who did not sign their name to the email stating they know I spoke to a board member. That was the end of the story. After speaking to several other homeowners they are having the same difficulties as I am. Fines are being issued that are vague, CCR's are not specific and "Maintain the landscaping" has a different meaning to all of us. There are neighbors not receiving fines for the exact same yard as I have. There are neighbors getting second or third fines upward of 50 to 100 dollars when a first notice was not received. So... I read the entire CCR's. It states that a homeowner must first be given a warning and ample amount of time to fix said violation. It then states the HOA has the right to fix the problem themselves and issue homeowner a bill. It does NOT state they are allowed to fine homeowners. Please join me in this and make our neighborhood a place where families want to live.

Under their own bylaws VII it states that Due to their non profit stauts that generation of any revenue other than donations, membership fees and earned interest is precluded, examples given are garage sales and issuing fines they can not issue fines according to state law.

Update #27 years ago
The next board meeting is June 13th at 630 pm at the Mullen Fire Station in Lacey. Let's ask the board to reinstate the first notice is a warning. According to our CCR's it states the first notice should be a warning and time should be given to allow the homeowner to correct stated violation.
Update #17 years ago
I have just been notified that Horizon Pointe is not the only community who has problems with Vantage Community management. I am opening this petition to homeowners in two other developments.
