Joe's Crab Shack Used Photo of Lynching as Table Decor

Joe's Crab Shack used a photo of a lynching as table decor at their restaurant in Roseville, Minnesota. The photo is of a bunch of white people watching an African American person be hanged, and the caption reads, "All I said was I didn't like the gumbo." This kind of flippant comment accompanying a horrendous photo of racial violence is outrageous.

Sign on to echo the NAACP's call for Joe's Crab Shack to apologize at the corporate level, remove any photos of this nature and donate to a local community-based organization serving African American youths and teenagers.

I can't imagine sitting down at a restaurant expecting to have a nice meal and being faced with a mockery of racial violence and murder. The photo is embedded in the table, meaning someone thought it should be there long term. The manager apologized, but it's really not enough for such an offensive move.

Please sign to tell Joe's Crab Shack to do the right thing by removing all photos, apologizing from the corporate level and donating to a local organization.

This is exactly the kind of attitude that allows such rampant racism to live in our country and we must stand up against it anytime we see it. Please use your voice to stand up against this racist choice.
