Eliminate Double Land Transfer Tax for Toronto Homebuyers

Toronto homebuyers are paying DOUBLE Land Transfer Taxes - that's just not fair!

Show your support and demand that Toronto City Council eliminate this unreasonable money-grab!

According to the Globe and Mail, during the first 3 months of 2012, Toronto brought in an extra $17 Million more than expected in Land Transfer Taxes (for a total of $66 Million).

Ontario homebuyers are subject to Land Transfer Tax, but only Toronto adds its own Municipal Land Transfer Tax.

For example: For a $750,000 home, Toronto residents pay $22,200 in Land Transfer Taxes.  If the home were outside of Toronto, the tax would be half!

The tax, which took effect in 2008, is unfair and totally unjustified given the surplus in the City's budget.  Mayor Rob Ford has already publically stated his support for a reduction, but let's get Mayor Rob Ford and all the City Councillors to get rid of it NOW!

Toronto City Council needs to eliminate its Land Transfer Taxes and make Toronto more affordable!
