OUTRAGEOUS! Google supports OUTRIGHT RACIST Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS)

  • recipient: Google Leadership
Care2 update: On November 11th, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) - who is currently in the midst of a tight run-off election campaign - attended a public speaking event where she enjoyed the praise of a local cattle rancher. After he finished endorsing her, Sen. Hyde-Smith tried to show off how much she liked him, too. By way of thanking him for his support, she said: "If he invited me to a public hanging [ie a lynching], I'd be on the front row."

That's right. This Mississippi Senator said she'd want to have a "front row" seat to a lynching.

Two days later, on November 13th, a $5000 donation from Google to Hyde-Smith was listed in a filing by her campaign. A company spokesperson, however, says the money was sent before Hyde-Smith's remarks were public. Google says had it known about Hyde-Smith's lynching comments, it would not have made the contribution. THEREFORE We demand that Google ask for their donation to be RETURNED!

After her comments were made public, other donors are demanding their money back. Google should do the same!
