Yet another report has come out alleging that billionaire Elon Musk, whose fortune was built off of public subsidies, has a prodigious appetite for mind-altering substances.
The New York Times reports that "Mr. Musk's drug consumption went well beyond occasional use. He told people he was taking so much ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, that it was affecting his bladder, a known effect of chronic use. He took Ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms. And he traveled with a daily medication box that held about 20 pills, including ones with the markings of the stimulant Adderall, according to a photo of the box and people who have seen it."

If this is actually false, as Musk strenuously insists it is, he should have no problem submitting to an immediate drug test. Should he fail, he should be stripped of all of the millions of dollars of public subsidies that his companies enjoy. After all, the GOP has long fought for mandatory drug testing in order to receive Medicaid or food stamp benefits. Why shouldn't the same standard be extended to the CEOs who grow obscenely wealthy off of public money?
