Alemany Blvd./San Juan Ave Safety

On Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 7:51 p.m., Stacey Krause, a 20 year old woman, was hit by a speeding car along the crosswalk on the Alemany Boulevard/San Juan Avenue intersection in San Francisco, CA. Later that night, Stacey passed away due to injuries from the accident.

Since Stacey's accident, there has been several vehicle collisions on this intersection. The lack of street safety precautions such as a stop sign or pedestrian lights on the Alemany/San Juan intersection makes crossing the street in our neighborhood an unnecessary danger for local families and their children. If the situation is left as it is, I fear other unnecessary incidents may occur.

Therefore, I sign this petition in support of increased safety measures, such as a stop light, on the Alemany/San Juan intersection.
