Tell The Federal Government Not to Kill Barred Owls

The US Fish and Wildlife Service plans to kill over a thousand barred owls because they think it might allow for spotted owls to return to the areas.
Humans are responsible for driving down spotted owl populations in the first place but despite twenty years of efforts to undo the damage the spotted owl hasn't bounced back due in large part to competition from another native owl species that is more aggressive and less finicky about diet and nesting.
Humanity can't slaughter barred owls for being a superior natural competitor, especially when we're not even certain that the plan will even work.
We the undersigned would like to register our disapproval of the newest plan to save the spotted owl by killing barred owls en masse.
Humanity has taken steps to reduce our destruction of spotted owl habitats which is right but if the spotted owl cannot compete with another native owl species we cannot be responsible for killing those owls to make room for spotted owls to return.
We can't rectify the mistakes of killing one animal by slaughtering another in a pointless and unethical experiment.
We hope that your collective minds can be changed on this matter and that the barred owl doesn't have to suffer for being a stronger and more resilient species.
Thank you for your time.
