Congratulate Sen. Gillibrand (D-NY) on Energy Bill

The energy bill (ACES) that passed the House will gut a key provision of the Clean Air Act (CAA), letting oil refineries and coal plants off the hook for their global warming pollution.  Coal plants are our nation%u2019s oldest and dirtiest polluters.  Thanks to industry lobbying, the bill will provide a lifeline for coal.  More coal means fewer jobs in solar and wind industries, more pollution and a worsening climate crisis.  On 7/14/09, Senator Gillibrand spoke with Chairperson Boxer to express her concerns specifically about the CAA repeal in ACES. We the undersigned congratulate Sen.Gillibrand for her support and will continue to support her as she works to keep the energy bill strong.
