Keep Gilroy a small town

The city council passed taking 700 acres of farm land in the north west portion of Gilroy to build 4000 new homes. As is, we are in a drought and asking the people to use less water. Our schools are already over crowded with the children in town as it is. Where will the sewer system be placed to handle this many new homes? Why isn't our downtown being improved on? Who is really benefiting from this passing? There was a survey online and the people of Gilroy are very against the city growing yet the council (our voice ??) passed it.
