Palm oil

The palm oil industry is well known for its environmental destruction. Huge amounts of Indonesia's rainforests have been destroyed to make way for palm oil plantations. This has caused many animals that depend on these rainforests to lose their habitat and to be pushed onto the edge of extinction.

During the burning of rainforest animals die horrible deaths. The Orangutan is one species that has been endangered by this unnecessary and unsubstainable trade.

I am concerned that we as unsuspecting consumers may be inadverentely supporting the trade by buying products with palm oil in them.

In particular, I have noticed that Woolworths stock several (if not many) items with palm oil in them. See, for example, their vegetarian frozen dumplings and their bakery items (in particular, bake at  home Turkish bread  and hot cross buns).

Let's tell Woolworths to stop stocking items that contain palm oil.
