Also, the main fluoride chemical (fluorosilicic acid) that is added to water is not what most people would call a naturally occurring compound. It is a corrosive acid captured in the air pollution control devices of the phosphate fertilizer industry. It is illegal to dump fluoride into our lakes and rivers, but it can be put in our drinking water and toothpaste.
Palm Coast is going to be deciding whether to artificially fluoridate the municipal water supply.
Palm Coast City Councilwoman Heidi Shipley wrote in an email to the Palm Coast Observer “I don't feel it's my place as a City Council member to tell people what they have to ingest." Regardless of your views on fluoride, we should have a say in whether or not it is put in our water and we certainly should not have to pay for it. It corrodes the pipes in the water treatment plants adding additional repair expenses.
Please ask the Palm Coast City Council to refrain from artificially fluoridating our water. Get in touch with the City Council and let your opinions be known. I would also talk to the current candidates for City Council and Mayor due to the fact that this may come up during their tenure and not the current council.
