Bring back Latin as a compulsory subject for the UK school syllabus!

Latin, as a language, threads it's way through many others around the globe. Examining the etymology of the English language it can be found that Latin is interwoven through Botanical nomenclature, medical terminology, and law. By omitting Latin from the compulsory education syllabus we are creating an even more elitist and mindless society. Relevant knowledge should be accessible and free for all. Let's empower ourselves and future generations!

Speaking from the perspective of a 32-year-old woman who has re-trained at various points in life, to diverse sectors, it has become evident that a grounding in Latin at an early age would have been a positive catalyst to expedite learning a variety of subjects.
