Aandaal is the Temple Elephant of Shri Ranganatha Swamy Temple - Shrirangam
The Elephant is made to walk on three legs, for money. He is used in a festival, hopping during several minutes in return for gifts for the temple. This is unnatural and causing pain and discomfort.
The noble and majestic elephant is not in a general good health at all.  He carries lots of tortured wound marks on his weak body which are very efficiently covered under the decorative camouflage and color patches. Adding to the misery, prohibited drugs administered liberally has made his vision and his hearing poor. All animal activists are outraged by this torture to a beautiful elephant and demand to take appropriate action to liberate the ailing noble and majestic elephant from the temple he lives in and to provide all needful medical treatment. There is even more: The owners of the elephant don't even have legal and valid documents to keep him under their custody. TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION: SEND AANDAAL TO A SANCTUARY AND GIVE ALL MEDICAL ATTENTION HE NEEDS. DON'T SEND HIM BACK TO THAT abusive TEMPLE.

Sirs,

It came to my attention that an elephant named Aandaal from Shri Ranganathi Swami  Temple Shirangam is paraded in a festival while he is forced to hop on three legs in return for gifts. This is very unnatural and causing discomfort and even pain. He is covered with wounds, which are camouflaged, his hearing and vision is poor and last but not least: his owners don't even have legal and valid documents to keep him under their custody.

So many signatures have been collected by animal activists and advocates who want an immediate relocation of this elephant to a safe place, a sanctuary and proper medical care to heal his wounds.

Will you please take immediate action to this and let me know what has been done to stop this exploitation in these abusive circumstances.

Kind regards,
