Ban The Growth of Genetically Modified Crops on Vancouver Island

In light of the new information of the studies done on rats fed GMO (Genetically Engineered) foods, the use of these crops should be banned on Vancouver Island. With such a heavily organically populated location, with many local farms, the ecology could be devastatingly disrupted with the use of GMOs, including our water systems which are some of the best in the world, bee populations, and allergens. Please stand up for our right to have clean food and water, locally grown and uncontaminated foods disrupted by the usage of GMO crops. Let our government know that we do not want GMOs on Vancouver Island.

Dear Christy Clark,

Please take action on banning the usage of GMO crops on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. With such an abundance of Organically grown crops and farms here, the benefits of keeping these crops off the Island will help to ensure that our local farms will not be damaged, which could pose a very harmful effect on our water, wildlife, bees, and food crops.

The studies that are now coming out regarding the usage of GMO crops are damaging to the environment, which in turn are damaging to the human and animal population. There have not been enough complete, long term studies done to determine the full effect of damage which these crops could pose.

Please make the ethical and responsible decision to ban the growth of GMO crops on Vancouver Island.

Respectfully yours,
