Stop the massacre of the Mauritian Flying Foxes

A thousand fold massacre is threatening to take place on the island of Mauritius. The Government intends to shoot 18.000 Mauritian fruit bats, also known as Mauritian Flying Foxes, as the farmers are claiming that the bats are destroying their fruit crop. The contrary is the case. Fruit bats are extremely important to the Western Indian Island ecosystems. Their role in these ecosystems is as pollinators and seed dispersers.
The massacre is meant to take place when the females are pregnant and accordingly a whole generation will be wiped out. This could bring the species to the verge of extinction. They are already extinct in Reunion.
