Leicester City Council should sign the Woodland Trust's Tree Charter

We have been dismayed by the City Council's tree felling in Victoria Park, Prebend Gardens and in other places across the city. Trees provide wildlife habitat, clean our air and make Leicester a more pleasant place to live. They also take a long time to grow. Cutting down trees should always be a last resort. We ask that the City Council follow the example of Ipswich and Suffolk Councils and sign up to the Woodland Trust's Tree Charter. We ask that they adopt the Charter's principles into their policies, to establish a more responsible attitude to the city's trees.

*The City Council will only count your signature if you live, work or study in Leicester city. Please provide your work address if you work in the city but live in the county.*
