Demand Maryland Retailers Stop the Sale of Habitat-Destroying Invasive Plants!

Invasive plants, such as burning bush, Chinese and Japanese wisteria, and English ivy dominate landscapes and displace native plant species. These invaders destroy our state's natural ecosystem, disrupt local wildlife, and negatively impact homeowners by taking over their property. The first action against the spread of invasives is to not plant them, but many Maryland home and garden stores sell them anyway despite their devastating impact on our ecosystem. New York has banned an astonishing 69 plants, and the Maryland Department of Agriculture has already banned the sale of invasive yellow flag iris, shining cranesbill, and fig buttercup. Please help me save our struggling native wildlife by insisting retailers end the sale of invasive plants today!
