Don't force our children to be subjected to humiliating, "random" drug testing in public schools

As a parent, I believe that public schools should be a place where our children learn skills that help them face their fears and cope with the intimidation of peer pressure. They shouldn't feel intimidated by the very people who are there to protect them from negative influences. Teachers are your friend, your guide, and your mentor.

We have an obligation, as parents to monitor our childrens behavior and do what we think is right should a problem arise. Teachers should be a part of that but it is not their place to impose potentially humiliating scare tactics on our children.

Please take a stand with us to help prevent our schools from accepting money from pharmaceutical company's and spending tax dollars to drug test our children. Statistics show it yeilds very little reward and students who test positive do not receive the help they need.

It is unfair for our children to lose their right to extracurricular activities unless they submit to a drug screening which could, in turn hinder the true potential of our countrys impressionable youths.
