Call on Thailand to place more restrictions on the fishing industry to protect whale sharks

A dead whale shark found off Krabi's coast died entangled in a fishing net and had its fins cut off, despite whale sharks being a "protected" species in Thailand. The value of whale sharks is worth so much more to the nation of Thailand when alive attracting tourists to dive & snorkel with these docile giants. Action needs to be taken to stop whale sharks getting caught in fishing nets in Thai waters and help protect this vulnerable species from extinction. Fishing trawlers should be banned in areas where whale sharks commonly visit and prohibited from fishing in known migration paths.
