Tell the South Australian Government to Save Native Birds from Extinction

South Australia holds the ignonimous designation of the worst extinction rate for native birds as numbers of various species continue to plummet, according to a report on abc.net.au.

In a new report, conservationists argue that 15 species can no longer found in areas that were once common just 30 years ago.

Scientists argue that to save the birds from sliding into extinction, habitats across the state need better protection, noting that native habitat would need to be trippled in some areas to halt the decline.

As the report states: "The Environmental Defenders Office told an inquiry that local environment and planning laws fell "well short of what was required to reverse current trends in biodiversity decline".

The South Australian Government is failing native birds! Will you join me in demanding the Government takes action by legislating to protect land that's currently undeveloped to create new habitats and to convert previous habitat back to encourage the return of native birds across their previous range.
