The Trump administration has, time and time again, proposed harmful changes to the Endangered Species Act (ESA) that would devastate countless species and the environment. All of these proposals are designed to benefit industries like oil, gas, mining, and logging, who have long lobbied for weaker environmental laws to increase their profits at the expense of vulnerable, precious animals.
Iconic species like the grizzly bear, the humpback whale, and even the bald eagle are alive today because of the Endagered Species Act.

This means activities like draining wetlands, cutting down trees, or poisoning rivers where endangered species live could be deemed perfectly acceptable as long as it doesn't directly harm an individual animal.
Trump's drastic changes are a direct attack on decades of successful conservation efforts. For years, the ESA has helped protect our most vulnerable animals. Now, we are at risk of losing all that progress, and many, many species.
