Justice for the Arcadia 4

Dear District Attorney Steve Cooley,

I am deeply concerned that you are wasting public resources to prosecute four community members who took action out of necessity to defend public land on behalf of the community of Arcadia and the greater Los Angeles area.

On January 12, 2011 John Quigley, Andrea Bowers, Julia Jaye Posin and Travis Jochimsen were arrested trying to prevent the destruction of what once was an 11- acre old-growth forest in Arcadia, California. Although their efforts were peaceful they were removed from trees, arrested and are currently facing multiple criminal charges.

Rather than spending tax payer funds to prosecute these citizens acting on behalf of the public good, you should be investigating the public officials for their deceptive, egregious, and potentially illegal planning process that led to the destruction of these old growth woodlands.
