Investigate Shell's Lies About Climate Change

Shell OIl was fully aware of the coming effects of climate change in 1989. That's when the company reported it was redesigning a platform in the North Sea to deal with rising ocean levels, caused by climate change. But, while Shell was preparing for a future of climate change consequences, it was lying to the public, saying the science of global warming was not clearly understood.

Now three California state leaders want to hold Shell responsible for its deceit. United States Representatives Ted Lieu, Peter Welch, and Matt Cartwright have demanded that U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch investigate Shell for denying climate change. Please join me in supporting their efforts. By signing below, you are asking Lynch to authorize the investigation.

Dear Loretta Lynch Lynch:

Shell Oil has been preparing for the devastating effects of climate change since 1989. But, during all that time, the company never admitted to its stockholders or the general public that they understood climate change to be very real. Instead, they encouraged climate change denial. Shell has substantially contributed to a worldwide delayed reaction which is already causing flooding and devastating storms. Please investigate Shell oil for climate change denial.
