End Fossil Fuel Investments at Salisbury University

Nearly all scientists agree that carbon emissions from burning fossil fuels are one of the biggest contributors to Climate Change, but even if you don't believe humans are causing Climate Change, there are many environmentally destructive issues currently caused by fossil fuels.

Air pollution from power plants are causing respiratory issues for surrounding communities. Oil spills are destroying ecosystems across the country. Even just extracting fossil fuels pollutes the area and puts workers' health at risk.

Salisbury University has committed to being carbon neutral by 2050, yet they still put about 3% of their investments in mutual funds that direct money towards fossil fuel companies. We are asking President Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach to show a strong commitment to environmental sustainability by pledging to make Salisbury University the first University System of Maryland school to completely divest from fossil fuels by 2025.
