Demand the Department of Education Continue to Investigate Transgender Student Complaints

On Monday, February 12, 2018, the Department of Education announced that it will no longer investigate civil rights complaints from transgender students prevented from using the bathroom of their gender identity. The Department of Education and Betsy DeVos have turned their back on the safety and well-being of America's transgender students.

The notion that Title IX, a federal law that bans discrimination in schools, somehow doesn't apply to transgender students is mind-boggling — and truly ignorant.

Let's be clear: the Department of Education has a responsibility to protect all students, including transgender ones. American youth who face difficulties with their gender identity already have a tough time navigating life - this does nothing to help them.

Join me in demanding that the Department of Education reinstate their process of investigating transgender student complaints.
