Defend Our Musical Education!

Our music department gives us a place to be ourselves and have no fear of judgement. Ms. Callinan teaches us that you can express yourself in any way that shows who you are, even if you're scared. She gives multiple chances for everyone to have their moment. She is an alumni that made the newspaper for "Coming back to her roots," her coming her is showing us how much of a family Holy Name really is that not even New York could keep her away. Ms. Callinan supports and pushes us to be the best we can be, she allows us to express ourselves, and speck our mind. She's touched the heart of every one of the students, not just in the music program, and I couldn't pray for a better teacher because that's her. Ms. Callinan lets us be kids but shows us how to act like adults; she shows us how to handle ourselves in real life situations and relates life to music. She tells us inspirational stories about her time in New York searching for her heart on Broadway, when all along her heart belonged here with us. I've had other Chorus teachers, but none of them come close to Ms. Callinan. Replacing her would not only affect the spirits of the chorus program, but also cost it to be significantly smaller. Many of us find the best of both worlds in the Chorus Program; we find an amazing teacher, a phenomenal singer, and a strong support system. Without that where would we all be left? Replacing Ms. Callinan would be like removing a steel beam from a skyscraper, it makes a drastic change even if not see to the eye. we all love Ms. Callinan and removing her would a mistake in her eyes and ours.
