Make Arizona the Nation's Solar Power Capital

Arizona has the most solar potential than any other state. In fact, there is enough to address all of the state's energy needs, but at the moment less than 10% comes from the Sun. A Renewable Portfolio Standard set by the Arizona Corporation Commission requires 15% renewable energy by 2025 among regulated utilities, but this is not enough! Historically, Arizona has had one of the most successful solar incentive programs in the United States. However, as of February, 2013, the Arizona Corporation Commission has completely eliminated commercial incentives and has severely reduced the amount of residential incentives available. There is no excuse that Arizona has fewer solar installations than New Jersey. With over 360 days of Sun, Arizona should be the nation's solar power capital. Urge Arizona legislators to reinstate commerical and residential incentives for solar power so that it's citizens can take advantage of their state's greatest asset!
