Recycling Program in Weld County, Colorado

As of now, Weld County has no recycling program for the cities of Greeley, Evans, and other surrounding towns. A large population in Weld County is university students, on our campus, we have a cohesive recycling program that works well with our needs. Although, once students move off-campus, there is no opportunity for them to recycle in town. Many community members and students have expressed frustration and disappointment with our city not having a proper recycling program. It is also disappointing not to recycle when being compared to cities such as Fort Collins or Boulder. Therefore, we, the students of the University of Northern Colorado, and other community members are urging that our council members implement a plan to recycle appropriately. With new board members comes new changes, and a recycling program is a change that we are urging our council to consider.
