We want to save our school! This is E.L. Meyers High School! There have been numerous "facts", studies, inspections done at all three schools in Wilkes-Barre. But the fact is we want to keep 3 public high schools in the Wilkes-Barre Area! Coughlin, G.A.R. and Meyers are all a very HUGE part of our city. We do not want 1 school or 2 even, we want the tradition of our city to stay alive. While I know it is not the cheapest route to go. I can not imagine living in a city that doesn't understand the pride we all feel from being alumni or families who have deep roots in the city. WE DO NOT WANT TO SEE MEYERS CLOSE IT'S DOORS! WE DO NOT WANT OUR KIDS GOING TO ANOTHER HIGH SCHOOL.
PLEASE sign this petition and tell the school board NO! Tell them how much of a mistake they are making. Repair, restore, or if you really must rebuild the school, but keep the MEYERS MOHAWKS in South Wilkes-Barre!
We are STILL fighting this battle! Please continue to sign the petition! Pass it on! We need the school board to really know how many of us are here and behind the high schools in the city of Wilkes-Barre (update: 6-25-2015) To show our support we will go to the school Saturday and form a human chain around the school. Hoping someone hears our pleas for this not to happen to the area!
