Canada, Don't Close Canadian Coast Guard Centres in B.C.

The Government of Canada is currently planning to close three coast guard centres in B.C.; instead consolidating them with bigger coast guard centres. This puts individuals in British Columbian waters at higher risk.

Traffic and population in British Columbian waters are currently at their highest, so it does not make sense to cut back Coast Guard facilities at this time. Additionally, consolidating them with bigger facilities is a mistake. By doing this, there will be a number of "blind spots" in which Coast Guard operators can not view the waterfront. Additionally, moving to a bigger facility means more noise, which can make communication more difficult.

Tell the Government of Canada to keep us safe by not closing Coast Guard Centres!
