Ban Colorado stores from using new plastic bags

Countless studies have determined that plastic is bad for the environment, yet we continue to manufacture and use plastic bags. While recycling is a worthwhile effort, it is not enough. There are many stores in Colorado that are taking action and using paper bags, boxes, fabric and other reusable and recyclable materials. If there are alternatives, why do we continue to use plastic?

Many larger stores have bins for recycling plastic bags but most of them are overflowing with plastic bags full of plastic bags. It is very clear that there is an excessive amount of unwanted plastic bags.
