Why ISTEP Testing is Dangerous to Education

Education is being stolen from our children by politicians and political funding. The ISTEP standardized tests are not beneficial, and add to the unnecessary stress placed upon our teachers and children. The acronym, ISTEP, stands for Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress. How is that progress when more time is spent on passing these tests than actual learning?
Children are different and learn differently. Standardized testing ties teachers hands. One third of the year is taught to pass these tests which are rediculous and do nothing to educate our children. The teachers are also evaluated on these scores...complete nonsense!
The bottom line is I want my child to learn...not to learn how to take a test. Our teachers are under paid and love what they do. ISTEP prep 3 months out of the year is BS. Let our Teachers do what they signed up for, and keep government out! STOP TESTING!!!
