Stop unnecessary land development

We have an experimental station that sits right on the edge of our neighborhood the 99 year lease is up so developers are looking to purchase the land to build more unnecessary homes or warehousing space both of which we have PLENTY in this area that's empty and has been for quite some time. I'd like to somehow have the land saved so we can enjoy the greenery and all the different plant life they have there.
