Ban Fireworks in Cape Town, South Africa!

  • af: Tal H.
  • mottagare: Patricia De Lille, Mayor of Cape Town

This horrific practice is ridiculous and pointless and just lends to animal abuse and noise/air/marine pollotion.

Fireworks cause air pollution, noise pollution and pollution of the sea and land. There is no reason to be sending off objects that make animals completely fall apart due to the noise, leave toxic fumes in the air and actual rubbish all over the beach and ocean. Fireworks and Chinese Lanterns help contribute to animal suffering and land/marine waste.

SANCCOB in Cape Town with almost 100 endangered penguins and other marine birds at any given time almost burned down!!!

Let's have more respect for our flora and fauna that millions of tourists come to see every year!

Dear Mayor De Lille,

I am writing after seeing the disgusting beach images after Guy Fox Day (why do South African's celebrate this) as well as the fact that SANCCOB almost burnt down.
