Demand the Indonesian Governement stop illegal palm oil plantations from destroying the rainforest

Palm oil is in everything we consume, yet we don't think where this huge commodity comes from. We may be unwittingly contributing to this ecological disaster everyday.
For years people in rural Indonesia have had to deal with palm oil companies illegally coming in and destroying thousands of acres of rainforest to plant Palm oil trees. What's worse is that after the companies have cut down all the trees they then burn the forest floor to get the earth ready for these new plantations. However, because it is covered in peet moss the fires release thousands of times more carbon then a regular fire.
Tesso Nilo is one of the last rainforests left in Indonesia and houses many endangered plant and animal species including the endangered Sumatran tiger and the Sumatran Elephant. Yet this forest is threatened by bordering Palm oil plantations and if we don't do something it will be lost as well. Think of all the biodiversity we will lose including plants and animals that have yet to be discovered.
Please sign this petition to raise awareness for this eminent issue and to demand that suppliers of Palm oil source their products from legal plantations.
This petition is also to demand that the Indonesian Governement enforce the laws they have created to protect the rainforest and the people and animals that rely on it for their survival!
