Demand Clean Air in Louisville!

Louisville, Kentucky has had some serious smog recently. So much so, that some city leaders are predicting the city will not be able to show compliance with federal health standards. Wouldn't it be lovely if the city's government would intervene before the Environmental Protection Agency steps in and declares Louisville an emergency zone, akin to that of Flint, Michigan?

Please join me in asking the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District to take immediate action on a volunteer basis--before being required to by EPA. Specifically, Louisville leaders need to put together a work group to figure out where the worst of the pollution is coming from and work with the businesses that are creating smog to lower the output.

Dear Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District:

I'm proud to live in Lousville. But it is distressing to read--and to observe--that the smog is out of control. Clearly, the summer heat has something to do with the lingering presence of pollution in our skies. But local businesses and industries need to step up to the plate and figure out how to dump fewer pollutants into our environment. Please put together a work group to figure out where the worst of the pollution is coming from and work with the businesses that are creating smog to lower the output.
