STOP DAVIESS COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS FROM ELIMINATING ADAPTIVE P.E.

Daviess County Public Schools are doing away with Adaptive P.E. beginning with the 2014 – 2015 school year. They want to put children with disabilities in a regular P.E. class, with modifications.

Adaptive P.E. gives students with disabilities a safe place to go do physical activities that they are capable of doing. Our students do not have the ability to keep up in a regular setting and while the thought of inclusion is good, they will be set off to the side to do what they can do and not included in the general population anyway.

Don’t let the Special Education Department make this change. Tell the school board, Superintendent Owen Saylor, and Robin Bush that not having adaptive P.E. is not in the best interest of our children.
