Standardized testing is a huge part of school inequality. Does it seem fair that 100s of people are taking the same test, yet half of them don't understand the material? Here are some reasons why standardized testing is worthless: Standardized tests don't provide any feedback on how to perform better. Standardized tests don't value creativity or diversity. An unhealthy amount of emphasis is placed on Standardized Testing, causing students to stress. Standardized tests occur in an artificial learning environment: they're timed, you can't talk to a fellow student, you can't ask questions, you can't use references or learning devices, you can't get up and move around. It's almost as if you're in a prison. Standardized tests create stress. They also create "winners and losers" based on certain scores.
