KEEP Commonside east clean!

Merton waste disposal have left Common side east without a road sweeper. The Rubbish collectors are leaving waste, both food and recycling strewn outside residents homes and in piles in the gutter. The road approaching Hallowell close has also become a hotspot for dumping both vehicles/large items. Lavender walk, a local alleyway to a Primary school has become a target for fly tipping and dog excrement and a range of scattered litter.

The solution to this matter would be a regular road sweeper, Maintaining the natural beauty of the street and surrounding area. Possibly new recycling boxes given to residents to encourage less waste. Merton waste disposal/ council would have to ensure the community that these boxes would be emptied frequently and would not end up thrown in the gutter as recent history demonstrates.

I urge residents, the Merton community and parents/guardians of the children that attend St Thomas of Canterbury to sign the petition and help to ensure that Commonside East is restored.
