The Araripe manakin is a critically endangered bird from the family of manakins. It was discovered in 1996 and scientifically described in 1998. It has an extremely small known range in Brazil, within which it is subject to continuing pressure from agriculture and the development of recreational facilities. Today, the total population of this remarkable bird is estimated at 779 individuals. Save them before it's too late!
