Green River Cemetery ~ East Hampton (Springs) NY

For MANY years this beautiful, historic cemetery has been shamefully neglected in the care of the grounds. The current 'caretaker' doesn't care at all about the appearance or upkeep of the grounds. This cemetery is the final resting place of many famous artists, filmmakers, critics and writers including Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Elaine DeKooning, Dan Christensen, J.B. Handelsman, Alan Pakula, Pierre Franey, AJ Liebling, Stan Vanderbeek, Alfonso Ossorio, Stephan Wolpe, Steven Ross, Harold Rosenberg, Frank O'Hara, Jean Stafford, and not to mention the many generations of local people...Myself, along with many other locals/visitors of the cemetery would like to see the current 'caretaker' removed from his position and replaced with someone who cares about the grounds, the deceased and the surviving family members that come to pay their respects.
