Save the Yellow-legged Frog!

The yellow-legged frog is an ancient amphibian that once ranged through the state of Oregon. But humankind has seriously tampered with the yellow-leg's native home. Now, due to logging, dam building, waterway diversions, livestock grazing, and invasive species, this frog has disappeared from Oregon altogether.

It's time to take action to ensure that the yellow-legged frog can survive in the other states where it is similarly endangered. The United States Fish and Wildlife Service has agreed to carefully consider whether this species should be listed as endangered. But that agency needs to hear from you. During this comment period, please join me in asking the USFWS to list the foothill yellow-legged frog as an endangered species.

Dear USFWS:

First, allow me to thank you for taking the time to study the yellow-legged frog and consider whether it merits listing as endangered. I am writing today to assure you that it is. The yellow-legged frog has lost a great deal of its habitat. This species, in particular, has been hard hit by dam building, diversion of streams and rivers, logging, and grazing livestock. This species has already vanished from Oregon. It is your duty to protect species that are losing this kind of ground. Please list the yellow-leg as an endangereds species.
