Michael and Tammy Austin, of Concord, NH, are seeking unspecified damages from the school district in Concord, New Hampshire, which they say failed to provide a safe environment for their son and to protect him from bullying.

In May 2010, at age 14, their son was assaulted and forcibly tattooed on the buttocks by four older students during school hours at Concord High School.

So far, the school district has refused to accept responsibility.

Dear Concord School Board,

In May 2010, the son of Michael and Tammy Austin, a freshman at Concord High School, was assaulted and forcibly tattooed on the buttocks by four older students during school hours at the school.

While his four assailants have faced criminal charges and been sentenced to serve between three days and six months in jail, the school district has never accepted any responsibility for this bullying.

We, the undersigned, believe it is important that the Concord School District accept responsibility for this bullying incident, as is their legal duty, and admit that they failed to provde a safe environment for the Austin boy.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
