McKay Staying a 6a School

If you agree that McKay high school should stay a 6a school then sign this petition. I have created this online petition to voice an opinion. Dropping to a 5a school would not only affect sports but also the music programs at McKay. Most athletic and music programs are excelling. Unfortunately dropping to a 5a school would keep music programs from competing in districts, state, and valley league competitions even though they are capable contestants. It would also prevent sports teams from competing with any school in the Salem Keizer district considering that every school is a 6a school. The best part about being a 6a school is the privilege to compete with our peers. Having a 5a school will cause students not only to lose their school spirit but more importantly, their passion for what they love. There has to be purpose within friendly competition, even if it's as small as those stomach churning moments when you take one for the team... or the chills you get when you walk off stage. All McKay students have purpose.
