Tell Buncombe County Schools to Let Grayson Bring His My Little Pony Backpack to School

9-year-old Grayson is a big fan of My Little Pony. When he brought a Rainbow Dash backpack to school this year, he found himself the target of physical and verbal abuse from classmates. But instead of disciplining the students who had bullied Grayson, Buncombe County Schools told Grayons to stop bringing his My Little Pony backpack to school because it is a "trigger for bullying."

Grayson says he likes because My Little Pony because it's a cartoon that emphasizes the importance of friendship. It's just not right that Grayson has essentially been punished for carrying a backpack with Rainbow Dash.

Buncombe County Schools made a mistake by telling Grayson he can't carry his backpack. Instead of giving into the bullies, the school district needs to discipline them and teach them that bullying is just wrong.

Grayson would really like to keep bringing his Rainbow Dash backpack to school. Even more, Buncombe County Schools need to back up their statement that they take "bullying very seriously" and take action to teach students who bully that they need to respect others' difference.
