to deny McCoig Materials an application for a sand mining operation in Lyndon Township

There's no question that the mining operation will cause significant, and irreversible, damage to the township's groundwater, wildlife and ecosystems.

If McCoig Materials is allowed to use the site -- which is right in the middle of the beautiful Waterloo/Pinckney Recreation area -- 6 to 8 double trailers will go through the area every hour, for a total of 60 to 80 trucks in a ten hour day. It goes without saying that the trucks will cause heavy pollution and adversely affect the natural environment of the region.
