History Should be a Choice NOT a Requirement

There are smart High School Students who plan on going into fields of Medicine, Engineering, and Math. If they are struggling in history why should 1 irrelevant class effect there GPA. Your GPA effects what school you go to. So is it fair that a premed student cant go to an Ivy League because she got a B- in history but an A in everything else. History is useless and not necessary, whether to take the class or not should be a choice. There are a few students who find history interesting so they will sign up for the course and make sure history doesn't repeat itself. A long as a few people take it the rest of us don't need to.
