McDonald's: Let's fight plastic pollution!

A buddy of mine went to McDonald's today and brought her own reusable cup because she didn't want to use a wasteful plastic cup. But the staff there denied her request and told her they won't do that because it's "unsanitary" and they don't have time to wash the cup for her.

This is ridiculous! McDonald's should not only be encouraging people to use reusable products in order to fight plastic pollution, but it should also be helping to eliminate plastic production all together. It's time for McDonald's all over the world to switch from using plastics to using compostable materials instead. Let's demand that McDonald's take concrete actions to end our plastic dependency!

I'm tired of hearing people talk about how far gone the planet is, and not hearing any concrete solutions. Let's practice our power and start asking big corporations to reduce and possibly even eliminate the need for unnecessary production of hazardous materials that end up in our oceans and pollute our planet.

I'm convinced that if we get enough people involved, we can make a huge impact. A large majority of today's population consists of Millennials and Generation X, and most of us are well aware of the negative impact we're having on our environment. I think we have a lot more power than we put into practice.

We may not be able to eliminate or reverse the pollution we've already created, but that doesn't mean we can't reduce the amount of pollution we add to the problem.

Let's start with the big companies like McDonald's, and watch the snowball effect take its toll. Big companies have more than enough money to replace plastic with compostable materials. I think we just need to make our voices heard and bring our passion to their attention.

This petition is to draw attention to how many people are desperate for a long term plan to help reverse the direction our planet is heading in. We must join together and fight the process of plastic production for a brighter, healthier future.
