Demand that Common Core curriculum and testing be at Byers School District 32 J be repealled

We are petitioning for a vote by Byers school District 32 J Board of Education to   1. Forbid any further implementation of curriculum based on and addressing Common Core Standards. 2. To eliminate use of Common Core standards in our district. 3.To vote to develop or adopt any other set of standards in English Literature Arts, math, and science. 4. To opt out as a school district from Common Core Federalized and State Standardized Testing. 5. To require our K-12 curriculum to address these other standards once they are developed/adopted.

Every Colorado local school Board has the authority to require these actions. Congress did not pass legislation requiring Common Core standards to be implemented, nor did Congress require that standards, curriculum and tests be aligned. If parents find Common Core to be unacceptable, they can change standards and districts will not have to return any Race to the Top dollars.
