Stop the War on the EPA

At a time when the EPA's workforce is already at a 20-year low, Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-WV) has introduced H.R. 3641, a bill that would slash EPA's staff by an additional 15%.

Griffith is attempting to frame this assault as some sort of compromise, claiming it's "a more balanced approach" than shutting down the EPA altogether. Stand strong against this nonsensical extremism.

Take Action: Tell your Representative to reject H.R. 3641.
Dear [Representative],

I am writing today to ask you to stand strong against Rep. Morgan Griffith's proposed bill--the "EPA Maximum Achievable Contraction of Technocrats Act."

H.R. 3641 is an unnecessary and senseless attack on the EPA. The EPA was created by Congress to help keep our air clean, ensure that our drinking water is safe, and to prevent us from exposure to dangerous chemicals. These are basic protections of public health to which all Americans are entitled. However, year-on-year budget cuts have compromised EPA's ability to carry out its mission, and have already left the agency's staff at a 20-year low. We are seeing the impacts of these cuts, through reduced planned enforcement activities in the coming year, and delays in important rules that would safeguard the public. Yet Rep. Griffith's bill seeks to arbitrarily slash EPA staff by an additional 15%, putting the public's health further at risk.

Please, don't give in to this unnecessary extremism. Stand strong against H.R. 3641.

Sincerely,
